It doesn't get any better than this...

I just heard a song the other day by Brad Paisley called "It doesn't get any better than this". It was a good song (you all know I'm a country music girl at heart!)...about how at different stages in his life (like meeting the girl of his dreams, getting married, their first child, etc...I think you get the picture :D) He would always say "It doesn't get better than this". It made me think about the times in my life when I thought things couldn't get any better (hear that I said better not worse :D) Here are some of my moments...

* The day I finally graduated from those long 12 years of school...all my family gathered around celebrating, soooo Proud!

* That first date with the Man of my dreams....everything was soooo perfect and special. (That would be Mr. PPRM in case you're wondering)

* The friendships I made on my own...(my college girls :D) Those crazy things we did...staying up wayyyy late watching good movies, laughing until your pants are wet, talking, sharing dreams...(or driving to Taco Bell everynight!!!) Okay, I know I only wrote the "good" things, not the naughty ones..ha, ha....

* The day I said "I do" to my MR. Right. He looked so handsome and serious...A day I will always cherish!

* Our first home...even if it's just a fixer-upper. It's our beginning....

* Turning 40 :D

* Chocolate Chip Cookies right from the oven...

* All the times God blesses Me! I will always remember the day I truly gave my heart and life to Jesus!

All those days I thought the same thing..."It doesn't get better than this"...but, it really does. And, I can't wait to see how much better it does get...I know God is going to continue to show me over and over that "Life does get better, especially when I let him be the guide" until that one day when it's the best...when I get to be in his presence forever. So, how about you...what are those moments when you thought "it doesn't get better than this"? I hope the thoughts of them bring Sweet blessings to your day! (And, maybe they even included Chocolate :D) Sweet blessings!

Another day....

It was another one of "those" days at the PPRM's today :D It started out great....I actually slept in until 7:45 (for some reason the older you get, the less it seems you sleep in ???!) Then, I puttered around my little Casa...the sun was shining bright, the birds chirping away, and NO wind in sight. I set the sprinklers so the lawn would feel happier too...and headed to town to get some errands done! I was so proud of myself...I even stopped at the walking trails and put in a mile!!!

When I got home, I noticed the calves all huddled around the water tank, so I decided I would just go ahead and fill the trough now. One little guy was curled up right next to the trough...enjoying the shade from the sun or so I thought...however, upon further inspection due to the hose being readjusted by another calf and now soaking him...I realized he just plain didn't feel good! Oh, NOOOOO...here we go again. Easy to fix, I think. So, I head around to push him through the calf pass (since he was already touching it...that should be a cinch!) Apparently, he didn't feel bad enough to go where I wanted him too...and, before I could turn him around he hopped right into the water trough...Great! Now, how would I ever get him out...poor guy...he was scared and unsure how he would get out himself. I tried to push him toward the side nearest the calf pass panel, all the while his legs and every part of his body trying to find a way out....finally, he does and wouldn't you know it runs as far away from me as he can get. So, next step, everyone has to get pushed into the pen...pretty easy since they are smart enough to know that when I open the panels they'll be alfalfa on the other side. Evreyone ran in, except little guy who was already curled up wanting to be left alone...I got him up and he walked right in for me...then, it was sorting everyone out...and into the squeeze chute for him. I have to say...it was the easiest I've ever had a calf go in....he just walked right in...I closed the tailgate and the rest is history. Poor little guy, he really was sick! So much, that to avoid all the fun of sorting tomorrow, I just left him and his Mama penned up out back...lucky them, they'll get to dine in style on the good stuff for a day or two!!! So, there you have it...just Another day in the life of this "cow" girl!

One more very happy note....Mr. Tim and Miss Susy came over tonight to help me permanently place my new Mr. D in operation! They are the Best!!! And, maybe, just maybe, tomorrow, I'll go get a new monitor to compliment Mr. D. :D Wish me luck..or send me your advice :D Sweet blessings!

New set up!

It's me again finally....I've been missing getting to post on my blog the last couple of weeks....as usual it's been adventure after adventure here....(doesn't that sound much better than chaos & craziness??? :D) Well, Melissa and her laptop finally left us for greener pastures (...or moving in with her Dad!) Most of you know my poor old girl wouldn't let me sign in on my blog, or do other various computer things....So, my sweet sister gave me one of her computers (well, I think it is kind of a hand me down...first it was my brothers, then, he gave it to my sister...and now, Mr. D belongs to me!!!) I think that's a first, being the oldest, I'm used to using things first then passing them on....but, I'm not complaining in the least...I am soooooooooo HAPPY to have a new "updated" companion! So, be on the look-out for lots of stories and a few fun posts here and there!!!
Now, all of this could not of happened with out my Miss Susy and her Mr. Tim. Thanks, to them sharing some of their Sunday afternoon time with me...and Mr. Tim's expertise in the technology world....he got me all squared away on how to set up my newest family member :D (A big, no make that HUGE Thank YOU to them....Miss Susy even fed me dinner!!!) I could never get that kind of service at Best Buy or Office Depot!!! Life is good! Sweet blessings!

Home...is where the heart is!

Home...that's where I am right now...okay, not my home in Hermiston, but, my parents home where I grew up. As my sister and I were driving to Richland yesterday and I was soaking in the scenery, I started to think about all things that said "Home" to me. Seeing the grass beginning to turn green, baby calves everywhere, snow-top mountains in the background....an excitement always begins to stir within me. It's funny how you can leave your famiy home to start your own, but there is still always a part of you that is that small-town girl. Richland is mostly a retirement community now, and I don't know anyone who lives there....but, there's a safe, warm feeling that comes over me as we enter the valley. A feeling of comfort and serenity....a feeling of familiarity and knowing. (Knowing that time there will be simple & quiet, slow and predictable). My family's home is filled with memories of the years spent there growing up (fighting with my sister over the use of our one bathroom, flipping wet kitchen towels at my brother while we did our "dish chores") ...Now, a few changes are happening...my parents are in the midst of remodeling. And, my favorite bed is gone...making my bed last night a sleeping bag on the floor :D One plus, though, is there is going to finally be another bathroom...Yeahhhhh! The things I love about home are simple...it's where I was nutured and given the basic principles upon which to base my life. I love the fact that you can leave the door unlocked and be safe, that there are no traffic lights, and that my Mom's cooking is better than anything in the world!
Home to me is also my very own home established with Mr. PPRM! It too creates a sense of warm feelings...and happiness! It's here that I feel complete! Our little fixer-upper has been our home for almost 16 years...it's been a place that has held our dreams, watched us change into the individuals we are today, and is my favorite place to be. What says home to me about it??? Mmmmm...maybe it's the creak in the living room floor, or the 80's style mauve (now, bleached pink from the sun) curtains, the groan the front door makes as it opens...or maybe it's the Love, tears, hard-work, and time spent there??? I just love walking through the door and know that no matter what is happening in our lives or the world around us... I'm cocooned in my safe haven. I Love the view from our kitchen windows, I Love sitting on the front porch on summer evenings soaking in the sounds, smells and view, I Love that it's a place where Mr. PPRM wants to be :D I always want my HOME to be a place filled with God's love, a place that is inviting and when others come, that they feel nothing but comfort and a great sense of peace. My heart is at home here!!! What say "Home" to you??? Where is your heart happiest??? May your homes be filled with many Sweet Blessings...that will forever live on in your memories and hearts! Sweet blessings!

Good-by Sadie...

This morning started out as usual...the alarm went off and I felt like I had just went to bed, it couldn't possibly already be time for the new day....but, it was...and today is my Friday...yeahhhhh ! Life has been a little full lately, and I was anxious to get into my morning prayer time...then, my stretching exercises...a couple minutes to check my emails :D (Another highlight of my morning!) I was almost finished reading my emails when Melissa came in from feeding... I hear..."Aunt Tammy, I have some bad news"...of course, my mind races...is it a horse or cow crisis???? Thankfully, it was neither...but, as Melissa was pulling the garbage can out to the end of the driveway for pick-up, she saw my little Sadie lying across the road. Sadie, my sweet, adventuresome, almost year-old barn kitty had ventured across to the luring open mice-loaded field and hadn't been fast enough to avoid, the way to fast, always driving vehicles on our road. Since I had been down this road many times, I put on my coat and headed out to give my Sadie the tribute she deserved. Poor Melissa, I think she was afraid I would have a melt-down, but after going through such things so many times, I've learned to realize it's just a part of life, and I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to love another critter and that they had been a sweet blessing to my life. I picked the perfect spot (okay, I looked for a spot where I thought the ground wasn't rock hard solid),which turned out to be under the tree, and began to dig her a spot. Melissa insisted on helping, and soon, it was time to truly say good-by to Sadie...and say a sweet prayer for the smiles she'd brought. So, that's my story for today....except for which, afterwards, I came inside and made sure I gave Missy kitty the big lecture about NOT CROSSING THE ROAD...I only hope she was listening ! Thanks for reading...! Sweet Blessings!

Got to Love your Neighbors...

Hello there from my little spot in the world...Today, was finally,the perfect Spring day...It started off very cool...and a little frosty, but warmed up to jacket temperature...(don't you just love it when you can trade in your heavy coat for the lightness of a jacket?!?!) The skies were a brillant blue with a scattering of white fluffy clouds and the sounds of birds singing with joy filling the air. I even discovered some tiny pansies starting to pop up...I love it when the earth starts to come alive again! What an amazing gift God gives us after the cold, darkness of Winter!!!
Okay, back to the title of this blog....Yesterday was a new adventure in "cowgirl" country :D Pat's been on the road again quite a bit, and hasn't had time to bring home some more big bales for the cows...so, to make due while he's away they have been getting the luxury of premium alfalfa everyday, plus a little forking forward of what grass straw was left. I was trying my best to keep some grass straw forked forward at the feedbunks....however, yesterday I noticed that one of the bars on the feeder panels was broken out...so, I moved it out of the way...thinking "I hope nothing besides the calves tries to squeeze through this opening." I had to go to town to deliver some beef (met my sister for dinner...I rewarded myself for being the delivery girl :D) then, headed home. I decided I should stop at the feed bunks and double tie the gate shut...(the baling twine on it wasn't as tight as I would like)as I pull up...I notice a couple calves inside munching away and then a much bigger cow....which turned out not to be a cow at all...but our Bull! Oh, NOOOOOO!!! Of course he could squeeze in, but would never be able to squeeze out....so, I came to the house, put on my "cowgirl" attire...you know the pants that have already been splattered with green, and my muck boots. I get back down there...hoping I can pry loose the legs of the gates, now molded by the mud & muck that has froze and refroze all winter. After so pulling, pushing, and a couple good kicks, I get the pins loose and can open the panels...(I wish...) Of course they are still too stuck and my muscles are not nearly big enough...I heave & ho, and heave & ho....but, decide it's useless, I'm going to have to find some help (which would of been Melissa's boyfriend Ben) but, just at that moment...our neighbor (and horse shoe-er) comes driving down the ditch road...(I'm not sure if I had that desperate look on my face or if he just likes checking in on me...)but, he stopped and asked if everything was okay...I explained my lack of strength and he hopped the fence, came down, pushed and pryed a little, and ta-da...the panels opened out...he yelled "Ondalay"to the bull...and it was a done deal. We put the panels back, he hopped back over the fence...and I found a big wooden pallet to secure in place over the hole with approximately 8 pieces of baling twine...(Okay, maybe not that many, but for sure enough to keep any critters OUT!!!) So...what can I say..."You just got to Love your neighbors..." Praise God for his gift to me at that exact moment...and Praise Him that he already left us those words in his Book....Love Thy Neighbor! I only hope that I can be that kind of neighbor each and every day....that I can see a neighbor in need and be there to help...that I can show Love in return. So neighbor, have yourself a good day! Sweet blessings!

Some Beach.....Some Where....

Some Beach.....Some Where....
Oh, how I wish I was sitting on this beach in Maui again!
