What goes better than those two things....Saturday & Sunshine! This morning is such a beautiful morning....I Love it when I wake up to the Sun peeking in, the sound of robins singing...and a freshness to the air! Everyone just feels good when the sun comes out....the horses are all running around, the cats are playing hide & seek, with intermittent games of King of the Hill....the cows are extra-happy because the neighbor just threw them his left-over hay ends...and sitting at the table sipping a warm drink, visiting with all my favorite people in the world, just makes this a perfect Saturday!
My Mom & Dad are here for the weekend...and My Dad is excited because the calm, sunshine means a great day of boat fishing for he and my brother...Yesterday my brother caught a HUGE one (whatever it was...I think a Steelhead???) so, today they are back at it...I think my Dad is secretly hoping he can catch a bigger one. I so don't understand the world of hunting & fishing & men?!? Even though I've grown up my entire life with it...I still don't get it?? Why do guys LOVE to be outside in freezing/100+ degree weather of all kinds, sitting, waiting, looking, scoping, to catch the BIGGEST TROPHY????!!!! But, this I do know...they always come back home happier for the time out :D So, today I say...good luck boys...and happy fishing!!! (My poor Mr. has to miss the fun as his day is packed with Farmer's market meetings, meat deliveries, and the general life of owning Cows!!!)
So, that just leaves my Mom, my sister & I to do whatever it is we want... :D Maybe we'll head to the Tri-Cities to do a little shopping...maybe we'll just go out for a girls' lunch...maybe we'll just hang out! But, the sunshine will definitely warm our spirits and make whatever happens just right!
So, on this Saturday & Sunshine...I'm hoping each of you finds a PERFECT way to spend your day!!! Sweet Blessings!
May You find Life's Sweet Blessings ALL around you every day!

Whoooohoooo for Wednesday!
Wednesday.....It's here...Whooohoooo!!!
Wednesday....the middle of the week day...
Wednesday...the day before my "Friday"....
Wednesday...a day for Youth Groups, Choir Practices, Bible Studies...
Wednesday...a catch-up day.....
There are so many things that Wednesday can be....and here's just a few of what my Wednesday was.....
* The first day all week that I woke up feeling energized! Whoooohooooo :D
* Teddy Bear Picnic day at Preschool...So much fun eating on the floor on picnic blankets...followed by our own rendition of "The Three Bears"!
* Lunch out....Finally, I treated my Miss Susy to lunch...We had Quizno's Prime Rib Cheesesteaks (One of my favorites :D)
* Doing chores in the rain...but, thankfully, it was a light drizzle...and as I was walking back from the feed bunks...I was blessed by the sight of a Rainbow! (You just have to LOVE rainbows...after all, it is God's promise to us!)
* Cleaning the bathrooms, vacuuming, sweeping/mopping, dusting...because my parents are coming tomorrow through the weekend! (I don't know why I always worry so much about it...my Mom doesn't care in the least...but, somehow I think I'm letting her down if she doesn't come to a perfectly clean house...CRAZY, I know!)
* Securing a home for BJ's chickens....mission accomplished :D
* Time spent reading God's word...I'm really drawn to Psalm 62 this week.
Wednesday...it's been busy & good! And, now I hear the sofa calling my name....Hope each of you found a Whooohooo in your Wednesday too! Or that it was at least Warm, Wonderful, Wishful, & Welcoming!!! Sweet blessings!

Up & Down...
I don't know why, but lately it seems like Life has been Up & Down...you know how one minute things seem fine and the next out of control crazy....I feel lately like I'm sitting on a teeter-totter...one minute I'm up and the next down...
I think I like being in the Up position of the teeter-totter the best...you know when things just fall into place....your clothes fit just right, good hair days are plentiful, your husband is truly Prince Charming, work is absolutely easy, fun & perfect, good health is in abundance....and you just know the Son is shinning on you!
But, if you go UP, you eventually have to come DOWN...or so the teeter-totter "rules" say....and, when you come down life sometimes has it's moments there too....the little elderly lady I had to buy the "cigarettes" for failed very quickly..and this morning left life on this earth, another good friend is struggling oh so hard to win the fight of Cancer, but at this point it appears the Cancer is going to win, my niece is sick, and no one knows with what, the rain is bringing the muck back......but, even in it all...I still know the Son is waiting for me to look up and see His brightness.
The more I think about it, the more life really is a teeter-totter....If I didn't take my turn at being "down" and experience things at that point, then, I truly wouldn't realize how great being "up" was....If I didn't stay "down" and just pushed right back up, I might miss things that make my life what it is...things that help me grow, things that make me stretch...and, in those moments when I get to just stop in the middle for awhile...to rest, rejuvenate, & look up, then I clearly see I am NEVER alone. And, I am ever so grateful that I have a Savior that LOVES me enough to balance my teeter-totter in the middle sometimes...to always push me up when I've been down to long...and to share my extreme joy when I'm up. God is good & faithful....and truly the one I want as my teeter-tottering partner! From my heart to yours....Sweet blessings!

Here I am....
There is a song that I heard recently on KLOVE....It's by Downhere and it's called "Here I am"....
The main verse of the song goes like this......
"Here I am, Lord send me,
All of my life, an offering...
Here I am, Lord send me...
Somehow my story is a part of your plan...
Here I am"
The first time I heard this song, it totally touched a chord within my spirit. It made me think about how God does have a story for each of us...and how He weaves that story into part of His plan. It also made me think...
Do I really say each day, "Here I am Lord, Send me..."???? Those are very strong words...and often are a little to scary for me to speak aloud. Because God does just that when you ask Him...He uses you...and sometimes it might not be as you would like....But, in my heart, I so know that is what He wants from me daily...and each day I need to press closer to Him, to make my life an offering...to be willing to go where He sends me.
This is the first time I've ever tried to do this, but, hopefully, this Youtube video will work, and you can hear the words to this song yourself.....May it speak unto your spirit as well!
Sweet blessings!

The honest truth....
I must tell the truth, the honest truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth....even though my Mr. says "Wives don't do that"....I somehow think others do...
So, here's my truth...when I have something I really like to snack on...I hide it from my husband! There it's out...now everyone knows the truth about me! I am a secret hider of "edible items!" :D
You see, I know my Mr. pretty well...and I know when he is home alone, and he is hungry, he will look for something quick to intake....which means granola bars, snack mix, chocolate, chips, ...pretty much anything you can just tear the wrapper off of and eat (sorry, sweetie, but, it's the truth!) And, so because I don't want him to inhale a whole box of granola bars (because, I really might like one later too...)& because I do care about his health... I have a spot to hide them. But, somehow, he has discovered my secret hiding spot...how, I don't know...because we have three "clutter" drawers in our house...how can he possibly know where to look ??? :D
Point in fact to my story....On Monday, I went to the store and found some energy bars (that were delicious I might add) and a few other things....Tuesday, I knew my sweet Man would be working at home all day...and somehow, I thought, I should probably leave a couple in the box and store the rest...you got it..in my secret drawer...which at that moment was depleted of anything but a box of toothpicks, my recipe book, a box of straws, and a pile of recipe pages waiting to be filed...So, I tuck the rest of the bars underneath the reams, piles, stack, of papers! Good! Now, when I get home and need a quick snack, I'll be able to grab one...He will NEVER thumbed through the pile to find them!
WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!!!
I get home, and we exchanged our day's happenings....He is getting ready to head out to the farm to feed, and I to do the chores at home...and I decide I'll just grab a quick bar to refuel myself. I open the drawer...Mmmm...I cannot find anything...I sort through the pile of papers...NOTHING!
"PAT"!
"Yes, Sweetie"?
"Did you get in this drawer today?"
"Yep, I sure did!!!"
"Why?"
"Because I was hungry and needed some instant food...I was starting to feel shaky."
"I cannot believe you found those....I purposely put them there today, so you wouldn't. (There was fruit in the fridge, yogurt, left-overs, etc.")
"Oh, Tam, wives are not suppose to do that...NO one else hides food from their husbands."
"Hmmmmmmm......." (let me just add one more funny detail to this story..He DID NOT even touch the bars left in the box on top of the fridge???)
So, that's my story....is my Mr. right???
Am I the only wife who hides food from her husband?
And, if so, do I need to seek help for that problem ??? :D (Somehow, I don't think I'll seek help anyway...I just think now I have to find a better hiding spot..ha, ha :D)
Or maybe I should just make him his very own "snack drawer"!!! My husband...I can't help but LOVE him to pieces!!!
Okay, just let me know if I'm the only crazy wife out there or NOT...and feel free to share any insights you might have already discovered on this topic! Happy Saturday....May today be filled with lots of great snacks, happy hearts, & fun adventures! Sweet blessings!

Again....
Here I go again....posting about SMELLS! Apparently, I must really have issues with smells... :D Or maybe I just have a good sniffer :D ha, ha....
Remember when I said the worst smell ever was Diesel...Well, apparently I was wrong! This past weekend, my Mr. spent a lot of time out at the property where the cows are being fed this Winter...and right now, they are eating a feed mix that is made up of frozen vegetables and hay. Let me tell you the cows absolutely LOVE it...it's like they are getting fed the best candy ever....they literally do come running like the candy truck was pulling up! However, I DO NOT like the way it smells! And, when my Mr. is fixing fence near their feed, somehow, the smell permeates everything! It's so strong, that he knows to take off all his clothes on the front porch...! (Don't forget to honk, if you are driving by and happen to see that site on my front porch :D) Sometimes, I just think God has a great sense of humor..and he's growing my sense of smell in ways I never thought about :D
Now, for the honest part....I somehow made the house smell icky all by myself. It was yesterday, and I had put some peas on to boil, and came to check out one of my favorite blogs real quick (just in case there was a new post)...well, there was, and I just took a second to comment on the post....(I didn't hear the timer on the stove go off) and when I headed back to the kitchen...Oooohhhhhh....the smell of burning peas was permeating everywhere!!! It wasn't just a simple scorching...NO..it was burnt black bottom of the pan burning!!! And, who should get home right about that time.... :D But, what a man...he never once asked.."What is that smell???" I asked of course, do you smell anything yucky in the house???? "Nope...just some good smelling Pork Chops (Okay, occasionally we do eat other meat besides beef :D).
Thankfully, he really didn't notice...now, I'm wondering if it's because the smell of diesel and cow "goodies" has destroyed his sense of smell...or if, it was all just in my sniffer :D Whatever, the answer...I did have to giggle about the whole thing! And, Praise God, I still had another bag of peas in the freezer to put on and cook!!! So, our dinner of Pork chops, Rice & Peas turned out fine in the end!!! As for my Mr.'s pants...after a day or two on the porch absorbing some fresh air, they head straight for the washing machine!!! Life is good...and I'm learning to appreciate that God made many different smells in our World...and sometimes, I just have to smile about those smells!! May you take time today to stop and smell, really smell the scents around you & find a little smile waiting for you too!!! Sweet Blessings!

Secret Codes...
Happy President's Day! Or as I like to call it...Happy stay-at-home from work day :D (Yet, another Sweet blessing of teaching three year olds...you get to enjoy all those "holidays"!)
So back to my title..Secret Codes....there seems to be codes for everything...because our home is in the country (and we have never jumped onto the Dish TV boat) we have antenna TV. Which means now, by tomorrow, to be exact, we have to install a DTV converter box, or you know what the TV says will happen (We'd be just looking at a box :D) So, for once we actually were ahead of schedule and got our box installed a week ago. It was simple enough...except for this...you have to have the code to your TV remote to program in the DTV box...(or you have to use the remote that came with it..which is extremely SLOW) Mmmm...maybe that's a good thing, since I've noticed MR. PPRM isn't flipping from channel to channel with it?!?!? So, do you think we have the universal remote's code...You are right we DO NOT! So, now, I have to go buy a new remote so we will have the "secret code" to punch in :D (I just can't help but smile about it...)
It's not just TV's that need codes...so, do our phones, cell phones, computers, etc...it seems that everything in our modern world of technology needs a code! It was much more fun as a kid just pretending you needed a "secret code" for things...!!!
But, the more I think about it...I realize..it's not really something "new"...there are lots of things in life that need codes....Like our mail & Zip Codes! Firearm Codes for safety! Building Codes....even our food we buy in the store has a code!!! (Which I'm all to aware of now that Safeway has the self-checkouts :D).
The military has it's secret codes, as does the hospital, and even the Boy Scouts...so, yesterday during Church it hit me as I was sharing my Mr. & I's secret code....we all have Secret Codes!!!
I don't really know if I should be sharing this...since it is a "secret code"...but, here it goes....Ever since Pat & I started dating we came up with a "secret code" of our own to say "I LOVE YOU"...(you know when you are in public and you can't just blurt it out...or if you don't want your friends, parents, siblings to hear you saying it over & over....or if you are in the middle of something serious, like a business meeting or Church...) Well, this is our "secret code"...I squeeze My Man's hand...three times means "I Love you"...4 times means "I Love you too", and 5 times...well that means "I Love you very much"! (There it's out...our code is out there for anyone and everyone to steal and use!) Although, my MR. informs me when I tell him I'm going to post on it...that "everyone does it"...do they????? So, now it's your turn to share your "secret code".... that is if you can :D
Thanks for reading my ramblings....most of all....May this day be filled with LOTS of Sweet blessings!

God's Love...
God's Love....
It is REAL...
It is for KEEPS...
It is ALL around us....
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he good; his love endures forever."
(1 Chronicles 16:34)
Today, over and over again...I saw God's LOVE....
First it was the Love of a friend...a sweet, sweet friend dropped by my home this morning..to bring me special note-cards (with the Sweet blessing baling twine banner on the front!) My heart was so overjoyed! Plus, the fact, that we got time to visit, to just be and connect! Our friendship is one for Keeps...because God's LOVE is a part of it!
Next, the Mr. and I traveled to Pendleton for a Farmer's Market meeting (Yep, it's true...it'll be coming before we know it!)...there I was blessed to see friends I had spent every weekend ALL Summer with....Friends that live the same kind of life we do (Okay, except theirs involve crops and ours cattle....but, it's relatively close!) The Love I feel for each of them is REAL...because we each live REAL lives!
Now, just a little side-note...the icing on top of the cake was that my Mr. & I stopped at Starbucks for a drink on the way home...(I like to think of it as a mini-date :D)
Once back home, we both headed our own direction...Him to take care of the cows (another answered prayer, since I wasn't able to go help him sort off a pair...which sometimes can take a LOT of running by yourself...I just prayed...and God is good, the Mama & baby actually sorted off by themselves!)...I headed to help the elderly lady down the road with her chores. My heart is still heavy and worried for her...but, I'm praising God that He is answering prayers and her children are finally coming to help. As I was visiting with her, I told her "Happy Valentine's Day"...there was sudden sparkle to her eyes, and a huge smile came across her face..."Thank YOU so much for telling me that" she replied...it was if she had not heard those words for a very long time.
I came home to phone messages from my parents wishing us a Happy day...and, opened my blog to find this beautiful new banner waiting....(It is soooo me too :D) God's LOVE is ALL around us!
If I look, really look, I can see God's LOVE in the very little things and in the very big things....in the ordinary and the routine things, in the everyday pieces of life, and on this day I was LOOKING !!!! My heart today was filled...filled with LOVE!!! From my heart to yours....Sweet blessings!

Happy Heart Day!
Happy Day of LOVE~
Happy VALENTINE's Day!
February 14th is one of my favorite days! Not because of it being Valentine's Day...Not because it's filled with flowers & romance....Not because it's a great day to consume as much chocolate as my little heart desires....But...
BECAUSE....it is the day my Mr. asked me to become his wife! A day I will always remember & cherish...so, here goes the memory :D
It was bright and early on that February 14, 1987...we were in college at Eastern Oregon State College (a.k.a. Eastern Oregon University :D). It had been a LONG Winter with lots of snow...but, this day, the sun was shining through. And, we were going to be heading to my parents for the weekend. So, my guy was there early waiting for me to get ready (of course :D..and, that's something that seems to still be happening!!! ). We decided to open up our gifts to each other....Because it was our final year of school and I knew Pat would be going to job interviews in the Spring...I got him a suit jacket (I know, every guy's dream present on Valentine's day..ha, ha) ..there's just such a practical side to me, what can I say! Of course, I also gave him a big BOX of chocolates...and probably some hokey stuffed animal (why do we do such silly things when we are in Love???). He's always so good at receiving...and makes me feel like my gifts are just perfect. (I always make him open presents first, because truthfully, I'm just not comfortable receiving...still a work in progress on that one...) There were three gifts for me to open...the first one was a vase of Roses, the second an even BIGGER box of Chocolates, and finally, a little box...I carefully open it...(thinking surely, this is the year I am going to get a ring???) NOPE...it's a another little box of candy with a stuffed bear sitting on top! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU I tell him as I"m squeezing him in a tight hug...he pulls back and says,
"Do you really like it?"...
"YES, I LOVE all the gifts you gave me."
"Really"..."
"You know I so LOVE Candy!"
"Look closer..."
"Oh, they are cinnamon candies :D" And, I love the words printed on the box, as I read them aloud....
"Tam, really, look"...
To which squeals can be heard throughout the apartment complex! Tucked inside the box, surrounded by red, cinnamon candies is an open little blue box, with the brightest diamond ring ever shining through...the candy box is crystal clear with these words printed on it....
I LOVE you in big ways
I LOVE you in small ways
I LOVE you this minute,
And, I'll LOVE you always! (This little box still adorns our dresser!)
Words that are spoken to me by the man of my dreams! (All of this makes me giggle...I don't know why, but when I'm nervous that's exactly what happens I giggle :D) Poor Pat he is trying his best to be so romantic, so perfect, to do things just right, and as he is asking me to be his wife, all I can do is giggle :D (Mmmm....seems to me the same thing happened during our wedding as we were repeating our vows! :D)
It was a perfect moment! A perfect day of LOVE! A perfect day which every time I think of it, warms my heart! And, still to this day, My husband can remember those words printed so long ago...those words that told me... He wanted me to be his Valentine forever! So, 22 years later...Here we are, still in Love, still growing, still giggling, still being each other's Valentines! And, the best part is....it's NOT about flowers, romance, or chocolate..it's about LOVE..the LOVE that God gives!
May this day be filled with ALL things Sweet...but, most of all, may it be a day that you take a moment to cherish those you LOVE...to spend a little extra time thanking them for the LOVE they bring into your heart...
And, may you get to enjoy some Chocolate along the way too! Happy Valentine's Day! Sweet blessings! X O X O X O

Sunday....
Sunday! My favorite day of the week!!! I Love waking up to the thoughts of the day ahead...It's the LORD's day (although, everyday truly is the LORD's day!) A day to be in worship, fellowship, study....A day to find some time to just "be". Sunday always seems like the calm before the storm to me...the day before everything turns into a rush again...the day before the busy-ness of life invades...the day before routines once again take over.
Not that Sunday's around our place don't come with their own set of "to-do's", the usual animal fares, and fun....but, there's just something different about it all. Even as I'm finishing up the last load of laundry, or packing the Mr.'s suitcase, or doing my lesson planning (because I'm a last minute sort of girl :D)...it all just feels peaceful.
Maybe it's because I grew up in a very small town, where pretty much everything was closed on Sundays, and if it wasn't closed, it would be by Noon! Mmmmm...I LOVE that part of small town life...the fact that EVERYTHING doesn't have to be open and going EVERY Day of the week. The fact that there can be a day for families, for rest, for catching up, time to just "be"! (Even my Mom didn't cook an evening meal....Noontime was the big family meal, and after that you were on your own :D )
Maybe it's because I get to spend extra time with my Mr.....Maybe it's because I get to sleep in a few extra minutes. And, if my Sunday is really perfect I get to curl up for a little nap! Maybe it's the sound of sports that always fills the house, a sound that has become familiar, soothing, and says "home" to me.
Maybe it's because on Sundays I truly focus on worshiping my Lord. Maybe it's because during that worship time, I sit silent enough to hear Him speaking into my heart. ....or Maybe, just Maybe it's because it truly is the BEST day of the week!
Wherever you are today, whatever you may be doing, may this SUNDAY be a day of all the BEST for you too! Sweet Blessings!

Tid-bits...
Wow! Another week has disappeared...where oh where does the time really go??? It seems like I wake up one day and it's Monday and the next it's Friday! My Grandparents were so right when they said the older you get the faster time goes :D (Mmmm....I wonder what other advice they've given me that is going to turn out to be true :D)
So, what did I do with my time this week....well.....
* I spent my days directing three-year olds on using kind words, helping others, and sharing!
* I opened my Bible and concentrated on studying the book of Esther...and found it led to some scriptures my heart really needed to read!
* My Miss Susy was back...so, for lunch this week I had...Lasagna, Chicken Alfredo, Chicken noodle soup & tuna sandwich :D (I am so grateful she shares her cooking talents with me!)
* My nephew was in town visiting and taking his placement tests for college...it was good seeing him!
* My sister had me over for dinner one night...(Got to LOVE those invitations out :D)
* Met with two amazing sisters-in-Christ for some bible study/fellowship time...another great blessing to my heart!
* Oh, and the fun things...like paying the bills, stacking wood on the porch, feeding the animals...watering....cleaning the house, (you know the things that make life spin :D)
And, then there was this....I hate to share it, but I MUST! There's a little elderly neighbor lady down the road, that we rent pasture from in the Summer...She's pretty much all alone here, her kids live in the Big Cities...(Eugene & Seattle)...Anyway, she's had some health problems and hasn't been able to get out and about...so, I check her mail every day and do this & that as she needs it.
And, with the help usually there is a specific WAY things have to be done..letters cannot be mailed from the home mailbox, or the drop-off boxes at the Post Office, but must be mailed inside. Sometimes I can't help but smile..thinking I too one day will be giving specific directions to those helping me (NO...Mr. PPRM I AM NOT already like that :D ha, ha...) Anyway, I was leaving work on Thursday and my cell phone rings...it is BJ...
"Are you still at work, honey"
"No, I'm just leaving..."
"Well, I'm kind of in a bind, and I need your help"
"Okay, what can I do?"
"Well my eyes are still not focusing right, and so I can't drive, and I need some cigarettes".
(Oh my...I so did NOT want to hear that request)...NEVER in my LIFE have I bought a pack of cigarettes....in fact, I've bought Copenhagen before for my brother, alcohol before for a brother-in-law, (Neither of those I relished doing either...) But NEVER cigarettes!!! What should I say, what could I say...I grew up with smoking parents (Praising God they have now stopped)....I know how smokers are...like any addiction...they NEED that in their system.
"Okay, I'll stop".
"Well, you have to go to the cigarette store, it's by Mailing Made Easy...and I want two packs of Ultra Light 100's"
What in the world they are I totally don't know...but, I head to the store...hoping there is NO ONE I know watching or in the store itself. What an odd feeling to open the door and step inside. Of course, I ask the counter girl for exactly what I've been told, to which she replies, "What brand, Marlboros, Kool's, etc."..."I don't know...I just know they have to be Ultra Light 100's"....finally, I just say, "Give me the cheapest ones???".
My whole drive home, I still cannot believe Miss Tammy was buying cigarettes at the Cigarette Store????? And, thinking all along, that when I get there she is probably going to tell me I got the wrong kind, and I'll have to go through it all over again....
But,THANKFULLY they were fine!!! Whew!!!
Everyone I shared the story with found it funny...and to all my whining the reply was always the same "YOU should of just said "NO".....and, they were right, but I just couldn't do it. So, now, my prayer is that she gets to feeling better soon...and that I wasn't spotted going in & out of THAT store!!!
Most of all...I'm so glad that when I'm that age, and someone is having to "help" me...they won't have to go by cigarettes!!! And, even though I was in the store, I'm praying that above all others could see Christ in me!
So, that was my WEEK! I'm hoping each of you had a great one...and that your weekends are filled with ALL things good! Sweet blessings!

A gift.....
Every time, I look at my banner...the baling twine wrapped around the fence...I smile! I just LOVE it!!! And, yesterday the sweetest gift was given to me...it was a print of my banner....perfectly enlarged, with the words Faith. Family. Friends added!!! Thank YOU is simply not enough to express the gratitude in my heart to my sweet friend Lindsay! I can't wait to get it matted and framed, and to choose a spot in our home for it to grace.
Most of all, I'm praying that it will capture the eyes of all who enter our home, and that we will have the opportunity to share it's gift to our hearts...the gift of our life (& how baling twine is such a part of it :D), the gift of friendship, and most of all that to us "twine" represents God in our lives!
"A cord of three strands is not quickly broken". Ecclesiastes 4:12
(And, if you've ever tried to break a piece of baling twine without a sharp tool, you'll see it is NOT quickly broken)! Happy Friday....May it be filled with many Sweet blessings!

Some Beach.....Some Where....
Oh, how I wish I was sitting on this beach in Maui again!
