WANTED....SOME ADVICE.....!!!
You see I bought a vacuum cleaner a couple of years ago, that I just loved. It is a Bissel Velocity. We had one at preschool, and it worked like a dream. Well...since then, both vacuum's have stopped working well...I take mine apart clean it every time, check all the belts often, and do all the things the manual instructs to keep my "little girl" running perfectly. But, it doesn't!!! It sucks up all the fine dirt (I'm always amazed at how much dirt actually hides within my carpet :D ) That's all it does...it never picks up pieces of lint, strings, cat hair, straw, etc..even on the lowest setting?????
So....before I make my next purchase, I'm seeking advice on what kind to get :D
I know...NO ONE posts about vacuum cleaners....but, I really don't want to keep wasting money on vacuums that work for a year and then go kapoot!!! (I actually, secretly wish I could just have a cleaning fairy that showed up whenever the carpet needed vacuumed and "poof" ...job done!) PLEASE HELP ME :D!!!

cleaning fairy huh? my family thinks there is one at our house... oh vacuum a`- i have a dyson and really like it. i've had no problems with mine and i vacuum at least 4 times a week, or should i say the cleaning fairy does :)! have a good weekend and i'll see ya on tuesday.
My co-worker has a Dyson too. She loves it!
Hi~I have a Eureka Uno and I LOVE it. It picks up the fine dirt, everything off the carpet and pet hair! I couldn't believe how well it worked when I got it--apparently my old vac didn't work quite as well! Have a great weekend!

You will NEVER be sorry. During my daycare days I went through a few different ones, vacuuming so much. My parents bought me a Dyson for Christmas, because my Mom had one and loved it so much, and KNEW I NEEDED one! It works amazing.
Honestly, it is a big difference.
Mine is Purple, but they have a pink one out now, for breast cancer awareness, and seriously... Having a PINK vacuum would make vacuuming sooooooo much more fun! :) Happy Friday, my dear!

the kirby is super heavy and bangs into all the base boards.
i bought a dyson and took it back (only because i'm a real attachment user and the dyson attachments don't bend- the wand is super long and straight so it makes getting into my kitchen 'sweet spots' tough.
i guess what i'm sayin' is that i'll be looking forward to comin' back here and reading what everone else has to say ;)

We have had an Oreck for 4 years and we love it. It's very light weight but it really picks everything up. My sister recommended it after having one for over 20 years! Ours came with 8 years of free annual service, i.e. cleaning, new belts, etc.

I bought a Bissell at Walmart - 40.00 -- has worked for 3 years now. I have an old Kerby -- OLD. It worked but was heavy. The Bissell works better and doesn't kill my back! Now the difference between the Bissell (40.00) and the Kerby (more than $400.00) is tremendous and the Bissell is working just fine -- doing the job I need it to. At 40.00, I could replace it every year and still be way ahead!
